It’s essential to provide an aquarium with a tight-fitting lid, as they are prone to jumping when startled. These Firefish need a diet of meaty foods, such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and small pieces of fish or clam, fed at least twice daily to support their energy needs. They can grow up to 3.5 inches and need a minimum tank size of 30 gallons. Native to the Indian Ocean, Exquisite Firefish inhabits deep sandy or rubble based outer reef slopes at depths of up to 200 feet.
